Saucony Ride 7 Running Shoe Overview
When Saucony released the Ride 6 last June, it was among the lightest, well-cushioned neutral running shoes on the market. The Ride 7 is now available and is another half-ounce lighter than it’s predecessor. Weighing in at 9.4 ounces for men and 8.5 ounces for women, the Saucony Ride 7 still offers runners a plush ride with undeniable cushioning, thanks to the PowerGrid midsole—a feature that was new to the Ride series as of last summer.

"The thing I liked most about the Ride 6 was the addition of PowerGrid," said Greg, one of Holabird’s in-house Product Experts. "PowerGrid gave me a very soft landing, but was far more resilient during the toe-off phase than other neutral shoes that I had tried last year. The Ride 7 feels no different. In fact, the lighter profile of the shoe makes it feel more responsiveness."

Other key updates include:

  • Increased surface area for better ground contact and smoother transitions

  • Removal of the midfoot plastic shank from the outsole, replaced with blown rubber

  • Integration of a new, vertical flex groove in the forefoot of the outsole

  • Enhanced horizontal flex grooves

  • Lighter, more breathable mesh

  • More heat-fused overlays
